ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Florida-based DPI Laboratory has introduced its Catalyst Printers platform, featuring direct-to-wood UV printing into cabinet, millwork, and furniture production environments.
The system allows full-color graphics, logos, images, and textures to be printed directly onto wood-based substrates, including MDF, plywood, and composite panels, without overlays or extended drying times. Using instant UV-cured inks, printed panels are immediately ready for handling and assembly, helping shops reduce finishing bottlenecks and improve throughput.
According to DPI, the UV-cured inks offer strong adhesion and resistance to scratching and fading while supporting a more sustainable workflow through low-power UV lamps and inks that emit negligible VOCs.
“Woodworkers are masters of material. Our goal was to give them a tool that expands what’s possible and to let creativity drive production,” says Lon Riley, founder of DPI Laboratory.
The Catalyst Printers platform is positioned to give woodshops new options for customization while consolidating multiple finishing steps into a single digital workflow.
