According to the World Health Organization, the United States is the deadliest country in the world when it comes to ladder deaths - with more 164,000 emergency room trips and 300 deaths occurring each year. The CDC says 500,000 people fall off of a ladder every year and OSHA says workers die from the fall every week.

Enter Safety Hoist. The Pennsylvania-based company's ladder features a motorized lift that can transport 500-pound loads to tall heights.

The company's latest model is an electric version that plugs into a 110-volt outlet. And if the power randomly goes out, the hoist remains in place. Gas-powered hoists are also available.
