A small desktop laser engraver has proven to be a smash crowdfunding hit - raising more than $3.3 million on Kickstarter on a goal of just $10,000. And the campaign still has 24 days left.

The LaserPecker 5-watt portable desktop laser engraver can be put to use in seconds, says the manufacturer - also named LaserPecker.

The engraver specializes in quick setup and operation, offering speeds of 600 mm/s. Three resolution options of 1k, 1.3k, and 2k are offered.

It's designed primarily for use on smaller items - usable on surfaces up to 78 inches long.

Manufacturing is ready to go, with shipping to start this March.
