Keim Lumber Co. is truly a one-stop shop, with an estimated 700,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and an award-winning 125,000-square-foot retail store, spread on 40 acres in Charm, OH.

Family owned, the 102-year-old company has 420 employees, including approximately 120 in production. FSC and AWI certified, Keim sells its products locally, nationally and internationally.

Moulding & Millwork

Millwork is a specialty of Keim, which also makes furniture parts, doors and windows, and flooring.

Vertically integrated, Keim kiln dries its lumber prior to rough milling. The company uses Eagle, Progressive and Mereen-Johnson saws for ripping and optimizing, before moulding on the Weinig moulders. With in-house tool grinding and sharpening capabilities, Keim offers approximately 4,500 moulding patterns.

Curved forms are routed on the CMS CNC router and strips are laminated together, The company also has a U.S. Concepts for curved mouldings, as well as Costa, AEM and Opti-Sand machines for profile and flat sanding of parts.

The company was one of eight woodworking facilities recently toured as part of the 2013 Wood Component Manufacturers Association's annual Conference and Plant Tour Event in September.
