Northeastern Wisconsin Wood Products faces $184,800 in proposed penalties from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for 16 alleged safety and health violations, including several related to exposing workers to amputation hazards.

The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited Northeastern Wisconsin Wood Products for 16 alleged health and safety, including four willful and six repeat, violations after conducting a follow-up inspection at the company's Pound facility April 25.

I shake my head every time I see an OSHA press release in which a wood products firm has been cited for serious, repeat and/or willful safety and health violations. Are managers of these plants that callous or is OSHA simply overzealous?
