Using timber for furniture carcass sides

Hello, I am wondering if there is any downside to using 400mm+ timber boards for the sides of a tallboy carcass? I can buy them at this width. Instead of gluing multiple wood together or using plywood, I would just use the one timber panel. I'm thinking that to counter the panel warping over time, I would route out dado/channels for my wooden drawer supports to slide into. Concept is similar to image.
