KCMA commits to stand firm on tariff fight

The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association is standing firm on its antidumping and countervailing fight with the board literally standing shoulder to shoulder on a dais at the group’s annual spring meeting in support of these efforts. “We're going to continue to fight for our fair trade agenda,” said Jeff Gulledge, president of Montgomery, Alabama-based Bishop Cabinets and the incoming chairman of the association board. “We've seen the real dollars, $4.9 billion, by seeing this enforced properly. And we're going to continue to stay the course.”

Pending home sales decreased 5.2% in March

WASHINGTON – Pending home sales decreased in March for the first time since November 2022, according to the National Association of Realtors. Three U.S. regions posted monthly losses, while the South increased. All four regions saw year-over-year declines in transactions. The Pending Home Sales Index (PHSI) – a forward-looking indicator of home sales based on contract signings – waned by 5.2% to 78.9 in March. Year over year, pending transactions dropped by 23.2%. An index of 100 is equal to the level of contract activity in 2001.

CEO sells $30 million sawmill and laminate wood flooring factories for $1

The CEO of a company that plans to ship wood from Africa to the United States and use a patent-pending CO-Tech system to dry the lumber in route has sold his sawmill and laminate wood flooring facilities, valued at $30 million, for $1. Caravelle International Group, a global ocean technology company, announced that the Company's CEO Dr. Guohua Zhang has sold Penxing Gabon SARL to Caravelle.

CITY Furniture completes 1.4 million square foot distribution facility

CITY Furniture, a family-owned American furniture and mattress retailer, and fine upholstery furniture manufacturer, has completed a nearly 1.4 million square foot distribution facility and showroom in Plant City, Florida. The 87-acre development includes more than 1 million square feet of warehouse space, as well as a nearly 200,000 million square foot, two-story showroom.
