MOUNTVILLE, Pa. — AHF Products, a U.S. flooring manufacturer, is acquiring the former Wellmade manufacturing facility in Cartersville, Georgia, which was the subject of a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid in March 2025.

The acquisition, approved by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, is a strategic move to boost AHF's domestic production capabilities, the company said. AHF Products, a manufacturer of hard surface flooring with more than a century of U.S. manufacturing heritage, received approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia to acquire the assets of the Wellmade manufacturing facility.

The acquisition strategically positions AHF as a fully integrated domestic manufacturer across all major hard surface flooring categories, including the fast-growing rigid core segment. The company ranks #20 on the FDMC 300 list of top wood products manufacturers.

“This is more than an asset purchase—it’s a strategic expansion,” said Brent Emore, CEO of AHF Products. “With rigid core representing approximately 80% of the residential resilient market, this facility completes our domestic manufacturing portfolio and strengthens our leadership as a U.S.-based hard surface flooring manufacturer.”

The Cartersville plant will be wholly owned and operated by AHF, bringing premium U.S.-based rigid core production capabilities under its roof. The facility will be managed to AHF’s high standards, backed by more than 100 years of expertise in resilient and hardwood flooring.

“This plant fills a critical gap in our portfolio,” Emore continued. “It ensures we have domestic manufacturing across all key hard surface categories.”

Jennifer Zimmerman, Chief Commercial Officer, added: “This is a win for the industry and our customers. As part of AHF, the facility will enhance value, increase supply availability, and reinforce our commitment to American manufacturing. Now with 10 facilities nationwide, as well as an engineered wood plant in Cambodia, this acquisition expands our footprint and strengthens our ability to deliver fast, reliable service backed by quality and innovation.”

“Our intent is to maintain continuity for current customers while expanding operations,” said Emore. “We’re proud to welcome this new factory and capabilities into the AHF family.”

Federal agents raid the Wellmade factory in March 2025.

The plant was the site of a March labor-trafficking raid by ICE, the FBI and other agencies in which the company owner, Zhu Chen, his nephew, Jiayi Chen, and a third man, Jian Jun Lu,were arrested . on state charges for trafficking persons for labor servitude.

Dozens of victims employed at Wellmade Performance Flooring were rescued from labor exploitation, according to ICE. Victims were allegedly forced to work 12-hour shifts and were barred from leaving the plant. The report added that in addition to the raid on Wellmade's factory, seven residences were raided where law enforcement officials found victims being held in cramped conditions.
