VANCOUVER, B.C. — Metrie, North America’s largest manufacturer and distributor of millwork solutions, has appointed Chris Fearn as vice president, transformation. In this role, he will lead the transformation management office (TMO), sit on the Metrie Executive Leadership Team, and report directly to CEO, Kent Bowie.

Fearn has previously held strategy, sales and operations roles across Metrie, including the leadership of Metrie’s Pre-finished manufacturing business. Before his tenure at Metrie, he held senior level strategy roles at Deloitte Consulting, Coca-Cola, and Kraft Foods in Canada and Europe.

This combination of strategy development, corporate planning, and front-line commercial business acumen in the millwork industry ideally positions Fearn to accelerate the required collaboration, decision-making, and risk management required for Metrie to deliver on its long-term strategic growth plans. This is especially important as Metrie celebrates its Centennial in 2026 and prepares itself for another century of dynamic growth and industry leadership.

He is taking on the role from Ian Banks, who is retiring later this year, after a 35-year career across various industries. For more than a decade, Banks was chief information officer at Metrie, before more recently taking on acquisition integration projects across Metrie, including the development of the TMO.

“Chris is the right person at the right time to help us coordinate and accelerate the execution of our growth strategy,” commented Kent Bowie, president & CEO, Metrie. “He has the experience across Metrie to know how to gain agreements and then unleash the collective horsepower of the Metrie team. He will report directly to me, to showcase the importance of the work to our future success. We have exciting strategic projects that will develop winning partnerships with customers, provide them total millwork solutions, based on our dynamic operations across North America. The industry is going through a transformation, and our team is ready to lead.”

“I am excited to get going in the role, and support leaders across Metrie in the execution of their customer-focused growth strategies,” commented Fearn. “Transformation means managing dynamic change, acceleration of decision-making, and strong and efficient execution. The TMO team and I are ready to serve.”

Bowie added, “I would also like to thank Ian for his service to Metrie over more than a decade; and congratulate him on his well-deserved retirement. This transition is another example of Metrie’s good governance model that ensures we have the right talent ready to step up as we continue to lead the industry.”

Metrie is an FDMC 300 listed company, ranking #17 on the list.
