TUCSON, Ariz. - The Composite Panel Association recognized Norm Voss as the 2022 Brock R. Landry Industry Leadership Award recipient. The Landry Award is given annually to an industry leader in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the composite panel industry.

The award was created to recognize CPA counsel Brock R. Landry upon retirement after more than 40 years of significant contributions in service to the North American composite panel industry. Voss was selected by CPA members, and the award was presented during the Chairman’s Dinner at the CPA's Spring Meeting, held April 16-18 in Tucson, Arizona.

CPA Executive Committee member and Swiss Krono President and CEO Erik Christensen presented the award. He commended Voss on his numerous contributions to the industry and commitment to the association throughout Voss' more than 50-year career, including 12 years as the CEO of Kronotex USA Holdings, now known as Swiss Krono USA. During his tenure at the company, Voss led a number of expansion projects including the completion of the MDF manufacturing facility in Barnwell, South Carolina.

In addition, Voss was on the CPA Board and Executive Committee for many years and actively served on task groups, particularly  those focusing on formaldehyde regulations and industry advocacy. As the 1996 chairman of the association, known then as the National Particleboard Association, he led the integration of the Canadian particleboard industry into the newly named Composite Panel Association, in March 1997.

Voss joins Kelly Shotbolt (2017), Wade Mosby (2018), Elliott Savage (2019) and Will Warburg (2021) as distinguished Landry Award recipients selected by CPA.

Founded in 1960, the Composite Panel Association (CPA) represents the North American composite panel and decorative surfacing industries on technical standards, industry regulation, and product acceptance. CPA General Members include the leading manufacturers of particleboard, medium density fiberboard (MDF), hardboard and engineered wood siding and trim in North America, representing more than 92% of industry manufacturing capacity in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
