VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Sage, a service provider of accounting, financial, HR, and payroll technologies, worked with Edit Studios to transform its 18,000-square-foot, two-floor headquarters into a "hybrid-first" hub focused on innovation and employee well-being.

The design utilizes curved architecture and biophilic elements inspired by the West Coast landscape to create a sense of "flow" throughout the office.

The layout balances productivity and teamwork, featuring central touchdown areas for independent work alongside "solve" rooms for brainstorming. Private phone booths and pods are strategically positioned to offer views of the city skyline, ensuring quiet spaces for focused tasks.

The design also reflects Sage’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), with amenities such as a wellness room, a mother’s room, quiet rooms, and a multi-faith room, all thoughtfully integrated into the workplace. Sage’s branding is subtly woven in through custom green fixtures, bold meeting room graphics, and unique art installations—like a pencil-carved mural and Playmobil figurines—that reflect the company’s core values.

Sustainability was a priority in the renovation. By exposing original concrete and repurposing existing ceilings, flooring, and millwork, the project minimized waste. Additionally, the use of local vendors helped reduce environmental impact while supporting the Vancouver community.
