I have been asked to make a bench for a master bedroom. A sketch with dimensions was provided but details such as material choice, joinery and finish were for me to decide. Starting with a massive slab I had to work my way around some defects nonetheless trying to get a continuous grain match as best I could, cutting and glueing crisp corners. During the build I left both sides of the bench oversized for as long as possible to be able to compensate for possible errors due to some of the defects in the wood or grain matching. Made from Bubinga also known as Kevazingo, an Equatorial African hardwood. No stain was used: Just Osmo 1101 then followed with Osmo 3062. (Here is a link to Maurice Bloc's Instagram.)
