Designer turns garage into home office

Chris Durant, Valet Custom Cabinets and Closets, entered this project entitled Matte/Hickory  Workspace in the Garage: Under 600 sq. ft. category of the 2019 Top Shelf Design Awards. 
With the global  spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), more people are working from home, requiring creative solutions for ways to optimize their current space for home office use. 
 
 
This design from Durant is ahead of its time with its innovative use of the  garage space.

Suspended cabinetry
 

Materials used

Cabinet casework uses 0.75-inch super matte thermally fused laminate (gray “Sienna”). The doors are made from a synchronized textured thermally fused laminate (Hickory Oregon). The work surface is a 1.125-inch high pressure laminate (Black Microdot texture). There are 12-inch stainless “Bar” handles, and a proprietary matching epoxy floor color.
