2026 Top Shelf Design Awards: Celebrating the art of organization

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The 2026 Top Shelf Design Awards are now open for entries. The annual design contest gives closet and home organization professionals the opportunity to showcase their most innovative work. Sponsored by Rev-A-Shelf, these awards recognize excellence in both aesthetics and functionality.

If you have a standout project completed within the last year, now is the time to gather project details and your high-resolution photos.

  • Entry deadline: March 27, 2026 Deadline extended to April 10, 2026
  • Entry fee: $45 per submission
  • Judging criteria: Each project is evaluated on a 50/50 split between Appearance/Design (creativity and visual impact) and Functionality (quality of construction and smart use of materials).

Winners will be celebrated during the Top Shelf Design Awards Reception, sponsored by Rev-A-Shelf, on Wednesday, July 1, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The reception will be held during the 2026 Closets Conference & Expo at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. At the event, designers will have the opportunity to network with peers and industry leaders and to see their work displayed on the big screen. The Best of Show winner will walk away with a $500 grand prize, while category winners receive a $50 prize and an official award plaque.

Inspiration from past winners

To see what it takes to win the top awards, here’s a look at the Best of Show projects recognized in the last two years:

2025 Best of Show: Domenic Marcolongo of LV Closet Design took the top honors for his stunning "Traditional Glamour" project. This fully enclosed wardrobe featured handmade doors with unlacquered brass inlays and a custom watch-winder drawer.

2024 Best of Show: Kathleen Jacobson (The Couture Closet) won the overall prize for "High Gloss & Glamour," a luxury walk-in closet featuring sophisticated handbag display cases and ceiling-high cabinetry.

2026 Award Categories

Entries are accepted in the following categories:

  • Closets: Wood and Laminate (Over/Under 18 linear ft) and Reach-in.
  • Garage: Over and under 600 square feet.
  • Home Office: Over and under 150 square feet.
  • Specialty: Including craft rooms, pantries, laundry rooms, and mudrooms.
  • Wine Cellars: Dedicated wine storage.
