Reclaimed Wood Grows, Despite Economy Woes

Portland, Ore. - Pioneer Millworks is pleased to announce the addition of Chris Alling to the company’s West Coast team, signaling the company’s growth and confidence in the market as reclaimed wood continues to gain popularity in commercial and residential design.

Reclaimed Wood Grows, Despite Economy Woes "Chris will be responsible for laying the foundation from which our sales team and project managers will grow," says Jonathan Orpin, President Pioneer Millworks, "In addition to our headquarters in New York, we have a manufacturing facility in McMinnville, Oregon and reclaimed wood experts in Seattle and Portland, and before the year's out, we'll have additional team members on the ground, two in California. In order to grow smart, we need to have strong support. Chris is that guy."

Chris will also work closely with the design and build community promoting reclaimed and sustainable wood products such as reclaimed flooring, siding, timbers, paneling, wood tops, and fine woodworking. With two decades of custom wood experience with major fixture and cabinetry manufacturers, Chris understands all sides of the business, from production to design.

Chris says, “Besides adding LEED points to projects, reclaimed wood brings value in a way that no other surface material can. I'm excited to help folks understand it, work with it, and ultimately enjoy it.”
