KCMA: September cabinet sales down overall

Cabinet manufacturers reported overall cabinet sales were down 11.4% for September 2023 compared to the same month in 2022, but custom and semi-custom cabinet sales remained up year over year, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's September Trend of Business Report. 

The report found that September 2022 was $267.601 million compared to September 2023 $237.017 million, which was down 11.4%. In terms of year-to-date sales, the overall percentage was approximately the same. 2022 year-to-date sales were $2.147 billion as compared to September 2023 when year-to-date was $2.148 billion, which was about a zero change.

In terms of custom cabinetry, sales were up 9.9% from $539.925 million in September versus $593.479 million in September. Whereas, semi-custom sales went up from September 2022 year to date when it was $1.166 billion versus September 2023 when the sales were $1.214 billion. Stock sales dropped however from September 2022 when it was $441.537 million versus September 2023 when sales were $340.924 million.
