While the conference and expo will keep you busy, in your downtime, take some time to see the nearby sights and sounds of Charlotte.

Charlotte attractions

Nicknamed “Queen City” after Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Charlotte offers many attractions within the heart of the city.

Whether you're looking for a casual spot to enjoy lunch or a nightlife/dining experience, the Epicenter entertainment venue in Uptown (210 E Trade St.) is minutes from the Convention Center and offers three floors of options to choose from. Grab a quick lunch at Five Guys or Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Whiskey River or head over after the show for dinner at Fleming’s steak house or Blackfinn pub and end the night whistling tunes and singing along with the live band at Tin Roof.

If you are into arts and culture, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, featuring more than 1,400 works from the Bechtler collection of mid-20th-century modern art, is steps away and a few blocks over at 420 S Tryon St.

7th Street Public Market (224 E. 7th St.) is an urban food destination with everything from sushi to pizza, plus a coffee and cheese bar, featuring local and regional farmers, food artisans and entrepreneurs.

However, if you really want to know what’s brewing in Charlotte, there are several craft beer tours available for sipping your way through the city’s local beer scene: Charlotte Brews Cruise brewscruisecharlotte.com and Trolley Pub trolleypub.com/charlotte.

Live music lovers will likely find something just their speed at AvidXchange Music Factory, an entertainment complex with concert venues and dining located in Uptown at 1000 NC Music Factory Blvd.
