LAS VEGAS – Architectural Woodwork Institute will be providing industry visitors with an awareness of AWI member benefits centered on Industry Woodwork Standards, Industry Specific Education and Networking through AWI. Also in the AWI booth will be representatives of the AWI Quality Certification Corporation who will be on hand to field questions about the Quality Certification Program for architectural woodwork manufacturers. The outcome of this awareness is naturally to attract and recruit new members to AWI.
AWI has undertaken an initiative to author the Next Generation of Architectural Woodwork Standards through AWI’s accreditation as a Standards Development Organization (SDO) as authorized and approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
A new approach in AWI’s Next Generation of Industry Standards is to incorporate Performance Measures for Architectural Woodwork and Casework.
In October, 2017 AWI started a National Testing Facility in Americus, Geogia, where casework performance has been an ongoing process with performance measure data outcomes.
AWI has four types of membership: Manufacturing – A company based membership for those organizations who manufacture woodwork; Supplier- A company based membership for organizations who supply products and services to the architectural woodwork manufacturers; Industry – A company based membership for organizations who provide woodwork packages (brokers) to the construction industry; and Affiliate – An individual-based membership for anyone who wishes to support and affiliate with AWI.
At AWFS, AWI Staff will be demonstrating actual casework performance testing, which will include casework live loading and even ultimate casework destruction loading levels. Each day of the event, there will be several Casework performance demonstrations scheduled throughout each day.
AWI will be exhibiting at AWFS in booth 8868. See http://www.awinet.org/.
