Essential Cabinetry Group invests $4.75 million to expand operations

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Essential Cabinetry Group plans to expand its operations in Greenville County, South Carolina. The company says that its $4.75 million investment will create 156 new jobs. Essential Cabinetry Group ranks #95 on the FDMC300 list of top wood-products manufacturers with an estimated $84 million in 2022 sales.

AHFA seeks judicial review of CPSC rule for clothing storage furniture

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The American Home Furnishings Alliance filed a petition for judicial review of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Safety Standard for Clothing Storage Units, seeking to have the rule vacated. The petition was filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Also joining the petition are the Mississippi Manufacturers Association and Mississippi Economic Council.

Great Southern Wood undergoes infrastructure expansion

MOBILE, Ala. — Great Southern Wood plans to invest $13.7 million in an expansion project at its treatment facility in Mobile County, allowing the company to create 12 jobs and retain 78 current positions, according to the Mobile Chamber. Upgrades to the Mobile County facility is intended to improve traffic flow, and storage, and expand the company’s ability to process imports and exports through the Port of Mobile, the company says.
