Office furniture giant Knoll Inc. has expanded its high-end contract furniture offerings with the acquisition of DatesWeiser Furniture Corp. Terms of the deal, announced Dec. 1, were not disclosed.
American Woodmark plans $30 million HQ consolidation, adds jobs
Kitchen and bath cabinetry giant American Woodmark Corp. said it will invest $30 million to build a new headquarters in Winchester, Virginia, consolidating operations from four locations. American Woodmark also plans a $50 million stock repurchase.

Residential furniture orders post double-digit gains
Residential furniture orders posted double-digits gains in September, moving up 14 percent compared to the year prior, and 19 percent higher than August orders, according to the latest Furniture Insights survey of residential furniture manufacturers and distributors from Smith Leonard. This is the second straight month that's seen growth in the industry.

Wayzata cabinets unit CliqStudios puts $5.1 million into design studio

Louisiana-Pacific, Norbord swap OSB mills
Louisiana-Pacific Corp. and Norbord Inc. have agreed to swap OSB mills in Quebec. The asset exchange transaction is expected to close in early November. Norbord is transferring ownership of its mill in Val-d’Or, Quebec to LP in exchange for LP's OSB mill in Chambord, Quebec. Both mills are currently shuttered.

Auto & truck supplier Bed Wood and Parts plans $3.7 million expansion
Bed Wood and Parts LLC, an aftermarket supplier of domestic and exotic wood bed kits for pickup trucks, has announced a $3.7 million expansion of its operation in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. The expansion will more than double the size of the plant.
