Jim Heimbach is a talented woodworker in Sonoma County, California. His work is as much sculptural as it is fully functional as furniture. A case in point is the cradle he made inspired by Viking longships, which he describes in detail at his Etsy online store. 

Adi Andoko is a woodcarver in Jepara, Indonesia. His amazingly detailed work has been going viral on the Internet, and once you see it, there is no surprise why. “I was born in Jepara and worked as a wood carver with my uncle until I starting doing woodcarver it myself,” he says. The work includes spectacular tableaux of village scenes and Indonesian rural life. There is not much detail on line about what woods he uses or specifics about his tools or techniques, but the work speaks for itself.
