Chip Yawney at A Cut Above Woodworks, Jessup, MD, finished a media center cabinetry project right before Thanksgiving, and shared it with us.
Chip, who moved into woodworking in 2006 as a second career, is bringing to his woodcrafting business some of the skills he honed in his former sales and marketing positions at hgh tech electronics firms. He uses Twitter and Facebook, and great photography, as well as Constant Contact, to promote his business to projects.
A little while ago I sent a note out letting friends who follow us know about a project we were starting and invited them to follow our progress on Twitter. Here's what he reports on his latest effort, a 20-foot wide media center with pocket doors:
Some of you followed us @ACutAboveWoodWk and we appreciate that. For those of who didn't follow us on Twitter, I e-mailed some pictues of the project.
We spent seven days installing this custom media and entertainment wall and completed the installation this in November.
The built-in cabinetry is 236 inches wide and 114 inches tall. It includes a large media cabinet with pocket doors, storage cabinets and bookcases, wainscot panels above, and a mantel that is 147 inches wide. We also installed crown molding all around the room.
The client was very pleased with the result and said that the A Cut Above team did a "fantastic job" and that the work we did was "amazing." A couple photos are attached here, and you can see more - including the "before" picture - by following the link to this woodworking project portfolio
