ZEELAND, Mich. — A new permanent exhibition is coming to the Zeeland Historical Society at the Dekker Huis Museum, showcasing the city's furniture manufacturing history. The goal of the exhibition is to highlight the companies, craftspeople and innovations that helped establish Zeeland as an important part of West Michigan's furniture industry.
The opening reception event, Sip, Savor & Discover: Made in Zeeland, will feature an evening of exhibit viewing, refreshments and museum access as guests explore the stories behind one of West Michigan's historic furniture-making communities. A complimentary preview for museum members and donors will be held on July 17, from 5 to 6 p.m., giving supporters an opportunity to tour the exhibit before it opens to the public later that evening.
The permanent exhibition explores Zeeland's role in the furniture industry, showcasing the traditions that helped shape the city's economy and identity.
