AWI Will Host National Convention

Potomac Falls, Va. – The Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) will host the 60th Annual AWI Convention beginning Wednesday, October 31, 2012 through Friday, November 2, 2012 at the Biltmore in Phoenix, AZ. The Convention will mark 60 years of convention education and networking designed specifically for architectural woodworkers.

The speakers at the Convention will include Robert Stevenson speaking on “Manufacturing at the Speed of Change,” Alan Beaulieu providing an economic outlook for the industry, Jack Warkenthien addressing selling strategies, Marc Sanderson facilitating a Roundtable of “Hot Topics of Business,” and industry updates from Adam Lega, Joe Sorrelli and Rob Ziegelmeier.

The Awards Luncheon on Thursday will honor AWI Manufacturing Members for their achievements in Safety as well as the accomplishments of Chapters. The Standards of Excellence Lunch on Friday will honor AWI members for their beautiful woodwork design and fabrication. And, the President’s Dinner at the Heard Museum will signify the change in association leadership. Members will also have the opportunity to develop valuable connections with AWI’s Supplier Members and industry vendors available throughout the convention to discuss new products and services.

Tours and fun include a tour of PING® Golf Factory, a Taste of Scottsdale, AWI Amazing Race, Scottsdale art walk and shopping, Ladies Luncheon and Garden Tour, AWI’s In It to Win It, Desert Botanical Garden Tour, Musical Instruments Museum, Golf at the Biltmore, and networking receptions.
