JELD-WEN Lays Off 51 at Oregon Facility

BEND, OR — JELD-WEN, a manufacturer of windows and doors, on Jan. 21 announced it is temporarily placing 36 workers from its window division in Bend, OR, on unpaid leave, according to KDRV. The furloughed workers will retain their benefits. Company representatives say that those employees will not go back to work until the housing industry picks back up. Another 15 workers have been laid off from Bend’s millwork section. The company, which is headquartered in Klamath Falls, OR, employs about 20,000 people worldwide. Read more.
