This week's most-viewedwood industry reports include coverage of California legislation that would require safety brakes on saws sold to woodworking hobbyists and professionals. Lowe's and Home Depot lined up against it as the bill proceeded to passage by both houses in the state assembly.
A custom furniture builder who obtained a grant froma state arts council says he will use the money for a SawStop safety brake system. Bosch, meanwhile, voluntarily recalled 22,000 miter saws over laceration issues, reports the Consumer Products Safety Commission.
