WASHINGTON - Approximately 8,400 leather office chairs, sold exclusively through Office Depot Inc., are subject of a recall issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

It was the third national recall of office chairs sold at Office Depot since August of last year. All of the products were made in China.

The Prestigo high-back chairs, subject of the latest recall, were made by True Innovations LLC of Hong Kong, China, which is participating in the voluntary product recall. CPSC said it has received 78 reports of incidents in which seat plates broke, including one report of a fall injury. The chairs sold for about $250 each between October 2008 and February 2011.

CPSC urges consumers to contact True Innovations for a free seat repair kit. The kit includes a replacement seat place and installation tool.
