Office Depot recalls ‘pinching’ chairsWASHINGTON --Office Depot Inc. announced the voluntary recall of approximately 34,425 Realspace PRO 3000 series desk chairs because they pose a pinch hazard.

The recall involves approximately 34,000 chairs in the United States and 425 units in Canada.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Office Depot of Boca Raton, FL, has received one report of a consumer who was injured when his finger was pinched by the chair's lift mechanism. The products were manufactured by Huichang Furniture Co. Ltd. of China. The units sold for about $170 each.

CPSC and Health Canada urge consumers to contact Office Depot's recall hot line to receive a free repair kit with a cover for the tilt mechanism.
