YouTuber and woodworker Frank Howarth this time sets his sights on a practical project.

"In this project, I made two workholding devices for the CNC wood router table. The first workholding device is a clamp that holds a piece of wood vertical so I can mill the end.  I used it to make the joint in the middle of the carver’s mallets I made last week. The second project is to hold the finished mallet vertically so I can cut my initials into the handle."

Howarth is the creator of the bamboo Death Star and turner of the wooden eyeball. His videos are extremely popular on YouTube and are favorites on Woodworking Network.

In honor of Star Wars Day (May 4 - May the Fourth be with you), Howarth constructed a wooden Death Star – and filmed the process in timelapse.
Howarth built the bamboo death star using a CNC, a lathe, and conventional equipment - filming the entire process in timelapse.
