Multi-billion dollar wood product giant Universal Forest Products (UFP) has acquired four companies since January of this year. Total annual sales of the combined firms are around $50 million.

Multi-billion dollar firm Universal Forest Products will invest over $6 million to restructure a vacant facility into a manufacturing plant, creating 120 jobs in South Carolina over the next few years.

Universal Forest Products announced record net earnings and net sales for the fourth quarter and full year 2017, driven by lumber price hikes and its acquisition of idX in late 2016.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Universal Forest Products Inc. has announced that one of its affiliates has closed on the purchase of certain assets of Quality Hardwood Sales, LLC, a Nappanee, Ind.-based manufacturer and supplier of hardwood products, including components for cabinets used in homes and recreational vehicles. This is Universal’s first operation devoted to hardwood products. Quality Hardwood saw net sales of $30 million in 2016. The company’s management will remain.

Michael Mordell, a senior executive of Universal Forest Products, Inc. was named Executive VP International Operations to lead the the company’s new international division, UFP Global Holdings, Ltd., based in the United Kingdom.

Universal Forest Products, Inc. signed an agreement to purchase idX Corp., an international provider of store fixtures, retail displays and customized merchandising products.

Grand Rapids, MI-based Universal Forest Products, manufacturer of wood and wood-alternative products, pressure-treated lumber, and engineered wood products, opened a new manufacturing plant in Magna, UT and will add 30 new jobs.

Universal Forest Products has purchased the assets of Idaho-based Rapid Wood Mfg., which supplies lumber products for manufactured housing.

Wood and packaging solutions manufacturer Bigs Packaging and Lumber LLC has been acquired by UFP Western Division, Inc., a subsidiary of Universal Forest Products, Inc. Financial details of the Nov. 13 deal were not released.

Universal Forest Products, Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPI) announced third-quarter 2014 results, including net earnings attributable to controlling interests of $19.2 million, up 36.5 percent over $14.1 million in the third quarter of 2013.
