Susan Gelwicks Thompson, The Closet Designer, won the Closet reach-in category and Nancy Langway, Expert Closets, received an honorable mention.

Pamela Taylor, won the Closet melamine, over 18 linear feet category and Harut Varuzhanyan, Artwood Design, received an honorable mention.

Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo 2013 had crowds waiting, and the floor filled quickly when the show opened Thursday morning. A breakfast "ideation session" proved popular. The show floor has plenty of machinery, tools, technology, panels, hardware and supplies.

The deadline for Design Portfolio Awards, given each year to honor custom woodworkers for their outstanding craftsmanship, has been extended to Nov. 29.
