Organizers of LIGNA, the world's largest woodworking machinery trade fair, and interzum, the leading event for furniture and cabinet supplies, are working together to draw attendees to the back-to-back shows.

Deutsche Messe, the organizer of Ligna, the world's largest woodworking fair, and other events, announced plans to invest in the development of the Hannover Exhibition Center.

Building on success achieved in 2011, Deutsche Messe will invest in further growth and in the development of the Hannover Exhibition Center.

HANNOVER, GERMANY -- Visitors came from a total of 90 nations, with major increases in the case of Russia, Finland, the United Kingdom, Austria and Sweden. Attendance was also up from the U.S. and The Netherlands.

HANNOVER, GERMANY -- Ligna, the world's largest woodworking fair with 1,766 exhibitors, reported 14% attendance growth on the opening day compared to the 2009 event.
