The edging is prefinished with a PUR-UV HotCoat technology. PUR HotCoating is the process in which a Polyurethane HotCoat is applied to the surface of the veneer, followed by a clear coat UV lacquer applied on top of the HotCoat. The PUR HotCoat creates a bond with the wood veneer, which increases the flexibility, wear resistance, and shock resistance of the finish, the company says. The PUR-UV finish brings out the natural beauty of the woo and provides higher flexibility and durability, Edgemate adds. Prefinished veneer edgings also are available custom stained to match virtually any wood finish.
