Shaper Tool's Origin is a hand-held router that can be steered by a smart-phone sized guidance system. The user guides the router's cursor within a general guide shown on the display, and the system keeps the cutting head on track. It uses a visual marker system to orient itself with the workpiece, then scans the surface to generate a map and if moved too far off course, the blade automatically retracts. Castle's flagship screw pocket cutting machine CSI 1.5D uses patented Screw-in-Pocket (SIP) technology that allows the machine to cut a pocket, drill a pilot hole, and insert a screw in less than 1.5 seconds. The company says it can reduce associated labor costs by up to more than 30 percent. The company has also introduced the Universal Screw Delivery system as part of the CSI Pocket Cutter/Screw Inserter. Featuring a high volume hopper that can accommodate two cases of screws and a polycoated bowl, the system will accept most any size pocket screw without the need for customization or changes to hard tooling parts.

Available from Stiles Machinery, the compact Homag EDGETEQ S-200 series of edgebanders are equipped with a precise gluing unit and an automatic magazine for material infeed of coil and fixed length material. FlexArm says its new AR-40 articulating torque reaction arm enhances operator ergonomics and improves production quality. Equally suited for either vertical or horizontal fastening orientations, the AR-40 is completely mechanical, with no external power source required. Occupying a small footprint, it delivers up to 40 ft/lbs of torque reaction through a working range of 4.25 to 27 inches. Tools up to 10-pounds and one to two inches in diameter can be maneuvered with complete freedom of movement without the operator having to support the tool weight.

It visually guides operators through the use of an LED light strip and laser technology that is projected directly onto the workpieces during operation. Biesse says its Rover C five-axis CNC machine can be used for manufacturing furniture, windows, doors, stairs, and architectural millwork components of any shape, size, and thickness.The machine combines five axes and four axes units to make it capable of processing any type of product.
