William Penn Cabinetry remains shuttered

FREEBURG — Production at the William Penn Cabinetry company remains shut down and financial problems appear to have spread to sister company Stanley Woodworking, according to an item in the Daily Item newspaper.

Furniture designer steps outdoors with wood-burning hot tub line

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Goodland, a new company started by furniture designer and manufacturer Craig Pearce, has launched a line of wood-burning hot tubs. The soaking tubs are made from recyclable materials, including aluminum, western red cedar, and oak.  Creating products using recycled materials is not new for Pearce. In 2009 he launched Union Wood, a company dedicated to manufacturing furniture from wood reclaimed from abandoned buildings and demolition sites.
