VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Goodland, a new company started by furniture designer and manufacturer Craig Pearce, has launched a line of wood-burning hot tubs.

The soaking tubs are made from recyclable materials, including aluminum, western red cedar, and oak. 

Creating products using recycled materials is not new for Pearce. In 2009 he launched Union Wood, a company dedicated to manufacturing furniture from wood reclaimed from abandoned buildings and demolition sites.

“The products we've designed at Goodland are about the experience, not just the reward,” Pearce said. “It's about creating meaningful rituals that put the value on pleasure over productivity, and enable us to find pause and connection.”

Goodland’s wood-burning hot tubs, available in Canada and the United States, retail for $5,795 USD.

Goodland plans to expand its product line in 2022 with the addition of bath accessories, an outdoor oven and a bird feeder.
