The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) has appointed Stephanie Owen as its new president and CEO. This follows an extensive search process led by a volunteer selection committee and unanimous approval by the Executive Committee of NWFA’s Board of Directors.

The Bureau of Land Management will offer the Durkee Fire Salvage Timber Sale of about 1.57 million board feet from across 250 public acres 12 miles southwest of Durkee in Baker County. This sale will produce enough timber to build roughly 100 homes, feed local mills, and support jobs in Oregon communities.

Hammond Lumber, the second largest family-owned lumber company in Maine, is set to acquire Ware-Butler Building Supply. The acquisition will expand Hammond’s retail footprint from 22 to 34 locations throughout Maine and New Hampshire, further strengthening its ability to serve communities across the region. The acquisition will officially close on July 31, 2025.

Canfor Corporation announced July 22 that its 77%-owned subsidiary, Vida AB, has entered into an agreement to purchase AB Karl Hedin Sågverk from Mattsbo Såg AB and certain minority shareholders for a purchase price of $164 million (1.15 billion Swedish Krona), including working capital of approximately $39 million.
