WMS 2025 preview videos: Sheartak spiral cutterheads

TORONTO — Sheartak, a manufacturer of spiral cutterheads for jointers and planers, will exhibit at the Woodworking Machinery & Supply Conference and Expo, November 12-14 at the Toronto Congress Centre. Sheartak says its advanced spiral cutterhead technology features carbide inserts with four cutting edges that stay sharp up to 40 times longer than traditional blades. In addition to reducing the need for blade sharpening, Sheartak adds its cutterheads eliminate complicated setup, tear-outs, and loud operating noise.

Remodeling market sentiment improves in third quarter

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) released its NAHB/Westlake Royal Remodeling Market Index (RMI) for the third quarter, posting a reading of 60, up one point compared to the previous quarter. With the reading of 60, the RMI remains solidly in positive territory above 50, but lower than it had been at any time from 2021 through 2024.
