Lumber Liquidators Updated App Matches Wood Color

Lumber Liquidators updated its Floor Finder app for smart phones and tablets. It lets users browse through more than 400 flooring varieties. The Color Match tool, previously only available on the mobile website, allows users to upload a photo of any item such and then see Lumber Liquidators products with a similar range of colors.

Carpenter Jen Netherwood Named Irwin Tool Tradesman Winner

Woodworking tools and a 2015 Ford F-150 Truck were awarded in IRWIN Tools 'Nominate a Tradesman' competition, which named Jen Netherwood winner in its first annual award that acknowledges outstanding tradesmen for their contributions within their field and community. Netherwood worked with local community colleges on a prison pre-apprenticeship program to keep the program running after funding was cut.

Herman Miller Plans Bigger Stores as Geiger Brand Takes Off

Herman Miller CEO Brian Walker said this morning at an earnings briefing that the company is rethinking design with the involvement of their customers. The furniture maker is planning to close some small format stores as leases expire and replace them with larger format stores. The change will translate into a net increase of about 55,000 sq. ft. Herman Miller plans to open six new larger format studios by the end of 2016, the first two planned for next month in Scottsdale, AZ and Berkeley, CA.
