Webinar to present update of certified urban wood

Jennifer Alger, director of Urban Salvaged and Reclaimed Woods Inc., and UWN Board Member, will lead the webinar.

The Urban Wood Network will present a Dec. 11 webinar focused on the Urban Wood Standards for North America. The UWN said the standards were created to help ensure traceability and credibility of urban wood products as well as the organizations providing them, adding that they are intended to be easy to use, time saving and value adding.

The webinar will be led by Jennifer Alger, director of Urban Salvaged and Reclaimed Woods Inc., and UWN Board Member. Alger will discuss how her company has test piloted the standards. The pilot program is intended to identify issues or obstacles in adopting the Standards for Certification and Chain of Custody for urban, salvaged, and reclaimed woods, as well as any revisions that may be needed to the first version of these standards. In addition, the pilot process will aid in identifying strengths, weaknesses, and gaps, providing valuable insights on the most effective methods to implement the standards on a larger scale.

This webinar will review primary objectives of this pilot and preview next steps.
