GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- For the second year in a row, Stiles Machinery has been awarded the Gold HIRE Vets Medallion from the United States Department of Labor. Stiles was one of only 675 companies nationwide to be awarded the Medallion for 2020.

Christian Vollmers, president of Stiles Machinery said, “At Stiles and Homag, we take a lot of pride in having many veterans on our team. We are proud to work alongside them and we are proud to know them.”

The Secretary of Labor established the Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE) in 2017. The program recognizes employers’ efforts to recruit, employ, and retain our nation’s veterans. Its criteria allow for the highest level of recognition for employers who are committed to veteran careers. More than 15 percent of Stiles’ workforce is made up of veterans.
