LIGNA Fair Organizer Says 2013 Second Best Year Since 2001HANOVER, GERMANY - Deutsche Messe AG, organizer of industrial trade fairs around the world, including LIGNA, reported consoldiated revenues of more than €312 million (approximately $425 million) and a net profit of €13.4 million ($18.3 million) for 2013.

The revenues represented a 24 percent increase from 2012, ayear in which Deutsche Messe lost €19.8 million ($26.3 million) and also up supstantally from the €292.8 million ($399 million) billed in 2011, a year in which many of 2013 shows, including LIGNA, were last held.

Deutsche Messe organized 56 trade fairs, exhibitions and events in Germany, which attracted a total of more than 2.1 million visitors in 2013, including more than 300,000 from outside Germany, and featured 24,300 exhibitors, including 10,300 from beyond Germany. In addition,  the company staged 63 foreign-based trade fairs last year with a total of 16,700 exhibitors and 1.9 million visitors.

Deutcshe Messe has embarked on a 20-yaer program to renovate the Hanover Exhibition Center. A new multifunctional exhibition hall (Hall 19/20) is under construction and is expected to be finiished by spring 2015.

The next edition of LIGNA is May 11-15, 2015.
