SAN ANTONIO — A roof collapsed as firefighters were battling a blaze on the northeast side of town early Monday morning, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.
San Antonio firefighters responded to a structure fire around 4:41 a.m. on Monday. When firefighters arrived, the flames were coming through the roof on the back half of the building, according to reports from KENS.com, channel 5. The news channel, citing a battalion chief, believes the building is used for woodworking. Officials say the back half of the building collapsed as they were fighting the fire.
The name of the company or building was not named. However, one publication ran an image of a series of buildings that didn't appear to be burned.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and fire officials say that half of the building is a total loss. No injuries were reported.
Hoodline.com reported that the San Antonio Fire Department responded to the emergency call with 16 units. An investigation into the incident is underway, as fire officials work to piece together the events that led to the early-morning blaze.
