Georg Dumuth

GERMANY —

The former co-owner of Weinig, Georg Demuth, died on April 12 after a long illness. He was 84 years old.

Demuth, a qualified engineer, joined Weinig shortly after the Second World War and later married into the family-run business. In 1954 he became a partner and together with Bertold Weinig developed the company, which originally traded in agricultural machines, to become a leader for solid wood processing machines and facilities. Demuth was responsible for the technical side of company management and introduced many ground-breaking innovations.
