WILLMAR, Minn. — Willmar Wood Products, a cabinet manufacturer specializing in commercial cabinetry in Minnesota, has moved into a new location. The building used to be the site of a Herberger's Department Store, located in uptown Willmar.

The company will grow from operating on 18,000-square-feet to 40,000-square-feet. During a Willmar City Planning Commission meeting, the company expressed to the committee members the need for additional space due to expansion and outlined its intention to utilize approximately 50 percent of the space, with the remainder potentially leased to other businesses.

Commissioners raised concerns about waste management, parking lot conditions, and fire safety measures. Paul Patock, co-owner of the company, provided additional details about these concerns, the company's operations, and the need for expansion, such as a growing demand for commercial cabinets in the area. Commissioners expressed support for the project and highlighted its potential benefits to the community and use of the space.

The company finalized the purchase in early 2025.
