Portland, Ore. - Pioneer Millworks is pleased to announce the addition of Ray Pettengell to the company’s West Coast sales team. With a decade of experience working in the reclaimed wood industry and holding LEED AP certification, Ray emerged on top from an in-depth search of west coast applicants.
“It’s not everyday we run across someone with not only sawdust in their DNA, but a working knowledge of the character and challenge that is the reclaimed wood niche,” says Jennifer Young, General Manager at Pioneer Millworks.
Ray will service California, Texas, and Southern Oregon, territories important to this native west coaster who has hiked, climbed, and skied his way through each of these states and more. He’ll work closely with the design and build community to incorporate Pioneer Millworks reclaimed and sustainable wood solutions such as flooring, siding, timbers, paneling, wood tops, and fine woodworking into their projects.
“I fell in love with reclaimed wood after remodeling two homes. I discovered my passion for sustainable design and green building and haven’t looked back,” explains Ray. “I enjoy the story, history, quality, aesthetic, beauty, and sustainability of reclaimed wood. I like trees best when they are alive, healthy, and standing, providing us with nature.”
Pioneer Millworks will be exhibiting at Greenbuild 2012 this week, where Ray will be on hand, sharing his excitement and experience in designing with reclaimed wood.
“At past Greenbuild expos which I have attended, I made rich connections with architects, designers, builders, and influential people in the industry. These relationships have lead to great projects and, more importantly, lasting friendships,” continues Ray.
