CHICAGO – As in years past, NeoCon® will offer attendees an array of unique exhibits for additional inspiration and insight during the three-day event. Following is a sneak peak at some of the unique exhibits which will be on display June 13-15 throughout The Merchandise Mart, Chicago:

Herman Miller Lounge
The Merchandise Mart, 1st Floor, South Lobby

Glimmer- How design can transform your life and maybe even the world

This exhibit will take attendees on a journey through today’s fascinating world of design, where the formerly distinct principles of graphic, product and social design are undergoing “smart recombinations.” In the cutting-edge studios of Bruce Mau and other visionaries, everything is ripe for re-invention. Using examples from this bestselling book by author Warren Berger, the Glimmer exhibit shares examples of new theories being developed about “design thinking”: what it is, how it works and what it can accomplish.

Green Spot and Sustainability Timeline
The Merchandise Mart, 1st Floor
Addressing global environmental challenges, the display highlights the product innovations, research findings and events of the last several decades that reduce our environmental footprint and make the world a better place to live. The Green Product Gallery and education center showcases new, innovative, sustainable and eco-friendly products from The Merchandise Mart’s showroom partners. Also featured is the sustainability timeline, which celebrates many of the accomplishments of The Merchandise Mart, its showroom partners and the City of Chicago.

Interiors & Sources Materials Pavilion
The Merchandise Mart, 8th Floor
In the Materials Pavilion attendees will find hundreds of material samples displayed side-by-side, with details on their origin, makeup and recommended applications. This experiential, educational exhibit is curated by design historian and materials specialist Grace Jeffers, and populated with the help of Material Intelligence and Think:Material.

Seeyond Exhibit
The Merchandise Mart, 1st Floor, North Lobby
Imaginations will wander as attendees enter the Seeyond™ experience - two freestanding curved walls that mingle form with function and reset all the standards for architectural specialty features. Attendees may select from freestanding walls, ceiling clouds, wall facings or column wraps – which are all are self structuring. Seeyond’s comprehensive solution integrates the process of design, manufacturing and installation.

Savannah College of Art and Design Exhibit
Market Suites, 8th Floor
The Furniture Design Department of the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA., will be exhibiting some of its finest students’ designs at NeoCon 2011. Students explore a range of ideas and processes in the furniture they design to create unique and interesting pieces using DuPontTM Corian®, a flexible design material giving participating students almost limitless possibilities. The pieces on display are manufactured with the support of C.H. Briggs, Corian®, and participating fabricators based on the students’ specifications.

Furniture Revolution Gallery
Market Suites, 7th floor
In keeping with the NeoCon tradition of opening its doors to well-seasoned and fledging designers alike, we are excited to announce the second running of the Furniture Revolution Gallery. The Furniture Revolution Gallery will provide a platform from the designs of student and up-and-coming young designers just out of school.

Student Project Display
Merchandise Mart, 10th Floor West Corridor
View the future of interior design from the next generation of designers from local interior design and architecture schools. Projects include innovative environments from commercial to residential, hospitality to retail.

The 43rd annual NeoCon®, the National Exposition of Contract Furnishings, is North America’s largest exhibition of contract furnishings for the design and management of the built environment. NeoCon features the latest trends, products, and concepts in office, healthcare, hospitality, residential, institutional and government environments from more than 700 exhibitors. Approximately 40,000 trade professionals are expected to attend.
NeoCon attendees are encouraged to pre-register by June 6 to save time and money. As part of a new effort to increase online pre-registration, attendees who register online by June 6 will be admitted into the show at no charge. Attendees who wait to register on-site will be charged $25 for a show badge.
