JASPER, Ind. — For those in the market for task seating, Kimball® Office | interstuhl® is offering a new, ergonomic and affordable option, with many of the same features found in higher-end office seating. Campos™ allows employees from all corners of the office to experience the comfort found when intuitive controls integrate with simple design. The line will debut during the week of June 14, at the Kimball Office Chicago showroom, 325 N. Wells St., Chicago.
“Campos revolutionizes the expectations of traditional task seating by including many of the same luxury features found in other Kimball Office | interstuhl seating products, and not currently available in the general task chair market,” said Jeff Fenwick, Vice President and General Manager at Kimball Office. “Campos combines solid quality with a light aesthetic, to provide the market with a budget-friendly, sustainable task chair.”
Crafted by world-renowned designer, Reiner Moll, Campos incorporates features such asa synchronous mechanism, tension adjustment, the option for a seat slider, adjustable lumbar pad, and a mesh or upholstered backrest. The line also includes large casters, backrest height adjustment, the choice of 2D or 4D armrests and a polished aluminum or black plastic base. Moll previously designed the award-winning Axos™, Best of NeoCon Gold 2007, and Xantos™, both Kimball Office | interstuhl lines.
Campos is ergonomic, Euro-styled seating, which encourages proper posture, respiration, circulation, and supports the vertebrae correctly. The line is available in a variety of mesh and upholstery colors. Orders for Campos will begin in early July 2010.
Like other Kimball Office | interstuhl products, Campos was designed with the environmentin mind, and may contribute to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) credits. The line meets Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) Indoor Advantage™ Gold certification.
Campos Features and Options
3D woven mesh backrest – The double-knit mesh offers maximum breathability, adjusts to any position and provides excellent ergonomics through pressure distribution and even support. Backrests are available in black, red or beige mesh.
Lumbar support – An optional adjustable lumbar pad is available on both the mesh and upholstered backs. The mesh back features air pressure technology whereas a mechanical depth adjustment is offered in the upholstered editions.
Seat slider –This elongates the seat, gliding it away from the back of the chair, to provide additional comfort and support for users with longer legs.
Synchronous mechanism – When the backrest moves back the seat front is simultaneously lowered. This mechanism ensures healthy, active-dynamic sitting with proper support for the lumbar; eliminating the push effect.
Tension adjustment – The adjustable tension allows users from 99 to 275 pounds to select the appropriate amount of backrest support.
Backrest height adjustment – The adjustable backrest allows the chair to be set for users of various sizes.
Backrest lock/anti-kickback – If the backrest lock is released, the chair will remain in the fixed position until the user leans back against the backrest. This prevents accidental fast-forward movement.
Adjustable T arms – 2D arms are height and width adjustable. 4D armrests are width, height, and depth-adjustable, and they pivot. Both arm types come with soft arm pads. Height adjustable armrests take strain off the neck, shoulder and arm muscles during computer-intensive work.
