Carved Doors Set the Curve for Flexibility and Personalization

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – With more than 100 standard designs and nearly unlimited custom potential, homeowners can have just about any look imaginable with JELD-WEN Carved Interior Doors.

Carved Doors Set the Curve for Flexibility and PersonalizationJELD-WEN uses superior router technology to carve designs into the door surface. With precise robotic routing, assorted panel and sticking profile choices, and optional applied moulding JELD-WEN offers thousands of distinctive combinations with exceptionally well defined detailing.

Virtually any design, symbol, word or image can be routed into the door’s surface. Homeowners might include a child’s name on a bedroom door or a vine motif on a wine cellar door. Carved doors have serious business application when they take on logos, suite numbers, or authoritative, permanent designations such as “Restricted Access.” Personalized products usually come with a premium price tag. But JELD-WEN Carved doors are surprisingly affordable and come with a five-year warranty.

Carved Doors Set the Curve for Flexibility and PersonalizationOn display at the 2013 International Builders Show in Las Vegas at JELD-WEN’s booth #C6912 is a new take on the classic “framed, ledged and braced” design, aka the barn door. Traditionally viewed as rustic and clunky, the carved barn door is transformed by router technology into a sleek design that slides right into a contemporary setting.

Recently introduced in the Carved line is the Common Curve design option, which are double doors with a continuous curve extending from one panel to the next. Homeowners and design professionals can transform a room by using a Carved double-door unit as one uninterrupted canvas.

JELD-WEN Carved Interior Doors are manufactured with layers of solid medium density fiberboard (MDF) and a polystyrene core. MDF gives Carved doors a stately heft, which homeowners appreciate, while installers are all-too-glad the polystyrene core makes them 33 percent lighter than most MDF doors. It’s just the right combination of substance and ease-of-handling. The core also provides some of the best noise reduction of any residential or commercial door, so it’s ideal for cutting back on sound transmission from room to room.
