VANCOUVER, B.C. — Metrie, one of North America’s largest manufacturers and distributors of millwork solutions, has opened its newest distribution center in Frederick, Maryland.
This state-of-the-art facility replaces the former Columbia, Maryland, location and is now fully operational and ready to serve customers with enhanced efficiency, the company said.
“The new Frederick hub is a game-changer for our operations and is purposefully located to better
service our customers,” said Ben Lavallee, Chief Operating Officer, Metrie. “It’s been meticulously
designed to optimize our logistics, boost efficiency, and cut down on lead times. Our priority is
delivering unparalleled service and quality to our customers, making Metrie the easiest and most
reliable partner in the industry.”
Kent Bowie, President & CEO, Metrie, echoed this enthusiasm. “The Frederick facility represents a
pivotal milestone in our growth journey. It embodies our dedication to innovation and excellence,
promising unmatched value to our customers. This new center is a testament to our ongoing evolution
in product development and service offerings, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the millwork
industry for years to come.”
Metrie is the highest-ranked Canadian wood products company in the FDMC 300 listing for the third straight year. The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company ranked No. 16 on the 2024 FDMC 300 list of North America’s largest wood products companies based on racking up more than $1 billion in sales in 2023.
The Maryland facility is the second such distribution center the company has opened this year. In July 2023, the company opened a retail distribution center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Metrie announced that the facility will improve growth with its top retail customer, Lowe’s. The facility will also support efficiency across retail businesses with improved customer service, speed and flexibility.
“The addition of the Louisville facility supports our commitment to building the best supply chain solutions in the industry,” said Joe Woods, vice president and general manager of Metrie Retail. “The Metrie Retail team is excited for the new opportunities that this facility will bring for both the Metrie team and Lowe’s.”
